Dancing in the Streets---New York, NY

This multi-disciplinary performance incorporating dance, environmental projections of text, contemporary musical composition, and community groups such as motorcyclists and accordionists activated as performers, was presented at night in the Los Angeles River. Texts appropriated from cemetery inscriptions and media advertising were projected upon the massive concrete ruins of a railroad bridge with the Gold State Freeway roaring in the background. The performance explored the themes of natural and cultural entombment within the multicultural torrent of Los Angeles.
